Hi- vis must be worn at all times if out of the car, especial as most points are in areas where vehicles will be moving. Please remember the message priorities:

IMMEDIATE   Message regarding risk to life (interrupts and to be sent before all other traffic)

PRIORITY       Any other urgent message (to be sent before any pending ROUTINE traffic)

ROUTINE        Any other message (to be sent in the order that they are given to you)

The purpose of this exercise is to simulate a live callout and test communications paths and message handling that may be relevant to a future user service exercise. Please assume that you have previously been placed on standby and monitor GB3PO for further instructions at 09:00 BST on Saturday morning (or GB3IH if it is not available by 09:05).  Once we know who is available Control will issue individual operators with locations to go to and operators should be able to reach them within 30 minutes after that.

Individual operators will be assigned frequencies according to a communications plan held by control. Please monitor GB3PO (or IH as backup) en route to your point and call on your assigned channel when you get there, or via PO if simplex contact with control is not possible.

Exercise Messages for all points to transmit will be sent by e-mail on Friday morning. Please check your RAYNET inbox and print a copy or save them on a portable device. You will only need to send those relevant to your assigned point. Please use the NATO alphabet and formal message procedure as described on the following pages.

Finally, please do not stand down until advised to do so by RAYNET control. Please enjoy your day and many thanks for your support.
