Thanks to all the
teams that have registered for the 2015/16 season. We have more-or-less the same
7 teams that played last season, so we are keeping the same format as last
year, which should make it nice and simple this season. That means that league matches will be three
teams at two venues, plus one team on a bye who are setting the questions. We
will also continue with the all team group quizzes every few weeks, starting at
the Carriers on 4th October.
There has been one
change in venue. The Cross Inn, Great
Bromley is closed and up for sale. So
the Cross Team will be playing out of the Court House in Great Bromley as the
“Cross Courts”. The Court House is a
couple of miles beyond the Cross on the same road if you are approaching from
Ardleigh – postcode is CO7 7JG. And one
more change in team name – the Lion Kings are now the Red Lion in recognition
of their permanent home, the Red Lion is East Bergholt.
For scoring, as
agreed at the AGM in April, we are going back to the “average bye score” for
the league matches. So the team setting the questions will score the average of
the other teams’ scores.
One
of the bye teams is responsible for setting the questions for their bye week as
shown on the fixture list unless told otherwise.
